Australia Methodist Youth Fellowship (AMYF) is the national-level youth body of the Chinese Methodist Church in Australia (CMCA).
The committee is comprised of youth representatives from the local churches* in the CMCA that have youth fellowships. The representatives are nominated by the minister(s) in their respective churches. The committee term runs for two years and is formed at the Annual Methodist Youth Convention (AMYC) biennially.
Functions of AMYF:
- Plan and coordinate youth activities undertaken at the national level.
- Work together with the Youth Director in regards to youth activities.
- Represent each local church youth fellowship at the national level.
- Represent all local MYFs at the Annual Conference (AC). The AMYF president is an ex-officio member of the AC with voting right.
- Review and amend the MYF constitution as necessary (subject to approval by the AC Executive Board).
- Manage the AMYF fund, allocating them to support the activities of AMYF. This fund is also available to support the AMYC and youth missionary activities (up to $3000). This fund is derived primarily from 1/3 of loose offerings collected from the churches* in CMCA on Youth Sunday (as per constitution).
- Advise and keep the AMYC organisers accountable.
* Includes preaching centres, preaching points and mission centres.
