#3 The MYF Constitution
We are currently in the process of reviewing the MYF constitution. We aim to have a new draft constitution by end of the year to be approved by the Annual Conference. The old constitution is now online as a resource for your local fellowships to refer to. Please click on the "
Constitution" link for the pdf. Queries, feedback and suggestions regarding the constitution is welcomed.
#4 Links to MYF Sites
Links to the individual local MYF sites are on the sidebar.
#5 One Voice
The song embedded in this site is "
One Voice", performed and recorded by the Australia West District youths in 2008. It was the theme song of the CMCA youth committee for the 2008-2009 term where they actively promoted and strengthened not only unity among ourselves universally as the Body of Christ, but also uniquely as the Methodist youth family. The lyrics of this song portrays this. We would like this spirit of unity to continue on.
#6 Plans for the Year
Here are our plans for this year:
Exco
We will review and amend the MYF constitution over the course of this year. Once ready, a draft version will be circulated for feedback. We aim to have a new constitution by end of this year, so that it can be presented to the Annual Conference for approval this year.
We will also compile a Youth Fellowship Directory. Each fellowship will be featured in this directory with information such as demographics and location. The directory will provide important information to youths looking for a church to attend, especially oversea students coming here for education.
Our secretary, Stephanie Lim, will contact the local youth fellowship committee to compile a contact directory.
For youth fellowships which has not yet submitted last year (2011)'s Youth Sunday contribution, please contact our treasurer, Peter Ling.
Faith
We have sent out the Bible memory verses for the first half of 2012. If you haven't received it, please contact our faith officers, Ernest Ng or Daniel Kong
Fellowship
We plan to hold city-wide combined fellowship gatherings. Your youth group presidents will be contacted by our fellowship officers, Yan Tu and Thomas Ting, regarding this.
Outreach
We strongly encourage each youth fellowship to organize evangelistic nights. Special items, musicals, skits, movies can be shown on such an event, followed by the presentation of the Gospel. Youths can invite non-Christian friends on that night.
We will also compile a list of online resources for personal evangelism methods.
Our outreach officers are Stephenie Kong and Edward Ting.
Citizenship
We strongly encourage all youth fellowships to participate in
Operation Christmas Child. The national collection month is in October. For more information, please refer to
http://operationchristmaschild.org.au/
We also encourage each youth fellowship to support at least one child in poverty through the Christian organization
Compassion. For more information, please refer to
http://www.compassion.com.au/
Our citizenship officers are Penny Lau and Alfred Lau.
Witnessing
We will be collecting testimonies, sharings and feature particular youth fellowships in the Methodist News throughout the year. Our witnessing officer, Phoebe Wong, will liaise with your youth fellowship in this regard.
