Twas a night in September, when all through the town
God's people were stirring, and scurrying around.
Getting ready for an event that all would remember,
as the best night of all, that one night in September.
At the church in Camberwell, the seats were filled aplenty,
with the bottoms of eager youths, altogether numbering one-twenty.
These youths had travelled from near and from far
from all over Melbourne, by train, foot or car.
We gathered together with one goal in mind,
to join as His body, our hearts together to bind.
Exclaiming thanks and praises to our glorious King,
our voices joined as one, with One Voice did we sing.
The message for the night came from our Youth Director,
spoken with great fervour, giving us a timely reminder
To be convicted of our faith and our trust in Him
to commit our lives even when things seem grim.
Bingo and consumables came soon thereafter
wraps, muffins, jelly and plenty of laughter.
So with thanks we departed, brimming with love:
together having shared food, physical and from above.
Newly met brothers and sisters added to our family
continued prayer and encouragement a joint priority.
The question left, that Google could not search
when will be the next time that we gather as this church?
